Accommodation & Course Fees
St John's College is located on South Bailey in the historic city centre, opposite Durham Cathedral. The accommodation at St John's is varied and full of character. Some of the buildings that make up the college are historic listed buildings, while some others are modern and purpose built. Many rooms enjoy a view of the Cathedral or overlook the college gardens and over to the River Wear. St John's College has hosted the JACT Durham Greek and Latin Summer School for many years and provides a tranquil and comfortable setting where learners can focus on expanding their knowledge and enjoy the opportunities for collaboration and growth that the course offers. The college also offers our younger learners a valuable opportunity to experience 'university life'.
The course fees include your room and full board, including three hearty meals a day cooked by the college's excellent catering team, with hot drinks and cakes/biscuits provided at break times. The college gardens and your rooms (all of which are equipped with desks), are great places to study during the afternoon free time, and the bar is open every evening to socialise with fellow students and tutors.

Standard Rooms
Standard accommodation at St John's comes equipped with either a single or double bed, a sink, wardrobe and a desk for personal study. Each corridor at St John's has at least one shared bathroom with a toilet and shower.

Shared accommodation at St John's comes equipped with 2 single beds, a sink, wardrobe and desk space for personal study. Each corridor has at least one shared bathroom with a toilet and shower. St John's has a limited number of en-suite rooms with attached bathrooms available. These will be offered based on need rather than on a first-come, first-served basis, so please let us know if you have any access requirements.

Non-Resident
If you live locally, and would prefer to be non-resident, we offer either a lunch only option or a 3-meal option. As a non-resident you are encouraged to attend all the extra-curricular activities in the same way a resident student would.
