Accommodation & Course Fees
St John's College is located on South Bailey in the historic city centre, opposite Durham Cathedral. The accommodation at St John's is varied and full of character. Some of the buildings that make up the college are historic listed buildings, while some others are modern and purpose built. Many rooms enjoy a view of the Cathedral or overlook the college gardens and over to the River Wear. St John's College has hosted the JACT Durham Greek and Latin Summer School for many years and provides a tranquil and comfortable setting where learners can focus on expanding their knowledge and enjoy the opportunities for collaboration and growth that the course offers. The college also offers our younger learners a valuable opportunity to experience 'university life'.
The course fees include your room and full board, including three hearty meals a day cooked by the college's excellent catering team, with hot and cold drinks provided at break times. The college gardens and your rooms (all of which are equipped with desks), are great places to study during the afternoon free time, and the bar is open every evening to socialise with fellow students and tutors.

Standard Rooms
Standard accommodation at St John's includes either a single or double bed, a wash basin, wardrobe, and desk for personal study. Each corridor has access to at least one shared bathroom, equipped with a toilet and shower facilities.

St John's shared rooms include two single beds, a washbasin, wardrobe, and study desk. Each corridor has access to a shared bathroom with toilet and shower facilities. If you wish to share with a specific person, please state their name on your Registration Form.

St John's offers a limited number of en-suite rooms with private bathroom facilities. These are allocated according to individual need rather than application date. If you have accessibility, medical, or other accommodation requirements, please include details in your application.

Non-Resident
If you live locally and do not require accommodation, you can choose either a lunch-only package or a three-meal package. Non-resident students are encouraged to participate fully in all extra-curricular activities alongside resident students.
